With ADD or ADHD, are we short on both willpower and patience? Aren’t they related somehow?
I was looking for some information on a website and was forced to sit thru the first part of a video to be able to get to the part I wanted. I was mumbling and grumbling.
My wife said, “Doug, be patient.”
I said, or growled,” I do not have any patience.”
“Well, you need to get some.”
“I don’t have any and I don’t know how to get any.”
“You’ve blogged about how to get some.”
“No, because I don’t know how to get some. I’ve blogged about how to cope with not having any.”
I’m leaving out the tone of voice here, or maybe you would think I was getting irritated, or that we both were.
“Well, you’ve blogged about not getting irritated!”
“No! I’ve blogged about how to handle being irritated!” he said, irritatedly.
And realized that I needed to put that into practice, right then. Sometimes we forget to use our tools (strategies).

The new ADD book, Living Daily With Adult ADD or ADHD; 365 Tips o the Day is selling slowly, but it’s selling. I hope people are finding it useful. Only two reviews so far, both positive (so far). Would appreciate any more.Have not had time to work on marketing yet.

I hate that. I hate when I forget to use my tools and strategies. Just did something like that lately. Once I realized what I was doing and corrected, things were better.
