You are special —ADD Tip o the day 71

As an old friend of mine always used to say, “I never cease to be amazed that —-“, we are all so different and we are all so much alike.  That applies to humans on the grand scale, and to us ADDers on the smaller scale.  My ADD patients come in and start telling their story, and “Yes, I had the same thing!”.  I was using lots of strategies before I knew that I had ADD or that those things were strategies. Or I thought I just had a weak character.  Or I had trouble starting things that I needed to start and trouble finishing things that I needed to finish.  And on and on; we have so much in common.

And yet, some of my strategies don’t work for you, and some of yours I would never use.  We each have to find our own strategies, the ones that work for us.  And yet, some of the strategies will work for both of us.  We are so similar, and yet different.
