OCD and ADD (or ADHD) are different things, but they have some things in common-perfectionism and procrastination, for example. If we have ADD, a small dose of OCD can be quite helpful – we are more likely to pay attention to details, and to be careful, not typical of ADD with our impulsivity. But too big a dose can paralyze us, as can ADD. So it is a mixed blessing.

About doug with ADHD
I am a psychiatric physician.
I learned I have ADHD at age 64, and then wrote four ADHD books for adults, focusing on strategies for making your life better. I also published a novel, Alma Means Soul.
The books are available at amazon.com (soft cover or E book), or smashwords.com (only E books). The prices are as low as they are allowed to be.

Living Daily With Adult ADD or ADHD: 365 Tips O the Day ( e-book).
This is one tip at a time, one page at a time, at your own pace. It's meant to last a year.
Your examples are wonderful, Doug. I relate! Currently, at the office I am collating policies and statutes according to their bearing on client ‘confidentiality’ according to various programs and services. Not an atorney, it’s a very tedious task and currently, I have amassed more than 30 pages of various relevant statutes –eack with its own assigned title (number) and subtitle (point 5, etc.). Yesterday, I realized I have nearly completed the project –taking days! How have I complished this with ADD? Painstakingly, repetatively, and luckily. I asked other knowledgeable folks to check my work. Voila! I’ve nearly completed a task for attornies –and I’m far from that.
