Weight Control? Control??

I have reached a goal!
I’ve wanted to get my weight down to 166 pounds for years and only occasionally came close. Now, I got it.
The trick of course, is to keep it off. Weight is easy to put on,  very hard to lose and much much harder to keep off. I will try to stick to my program but that hasn’t been that effective so far.
For this accomplishment, I have to give credit to Covid. I haven’t lost my sense of taste thank goodness, but I’ve had no appetite at all. So that’s a side benefit of Covid. It’s effective for weight loss, but I do not recommend it.
It will be interesting to see if I can keep it off now.

    I hope you get well from your COVID soon and all the way. I’ve found that when I eat more whole plant foods I tend to lose weight and feel better. Then the ice cream or whatever calls and I gain and get inflammation. I wish I could just stick to healthy habits… It seems that knowing what to do or understanding what works is only the tip of the iceberg, the easy part. Actually sticking with it, that’s difficult.
    I wish you healing and good progress.

      thank you. we’re about well, just a little cough and no energy.
      yes we need strategies. i’ll try to keep up no deserts, pretty much no bread or potatoes. i’m still eating some ice cream, will have to watch that. i need all or nothing, if i let myself eat one desert or one cookie, then the dam is broken. (ice cream obviously doesn’t count as a desert, its ice cream 🙂 )

    I always had the opposite problem – I could never keep weight on. Just eight years ago my body weight fluctuated by as much as two stone in a day! Finally, Now I’m in my fifties, my metabolism has slowed down and I can, at least, get a bit of a belly (after a good Sunday roast, for instance!) – but I’m still well within my weight allowance even though I’m four stone heavier now than I used to be at my lightest a few years back!

      weight is a booger. like you, as a kid i was skinny. I wanted to play football and did everything i could to gain weight. nothing worked and i played center at 168 pounds. later, when i didn’t want to, i’d gain a few pounds just by thinking about food. I’ve struggled and have had continued weight fluctuations. if i try real hard i can lose 2 pounds in a week. then i can gain five pounds in one evening. you are fortunate to be the opposite – aside from vanity, obesity leads to diabetes, depression, and probably other problems.
      BTW, I just asked alexa and she tells me a stone equals 14 pounds, one pound is .O7 stone.
