Best ADHD Blogs of 2019 — ADHD Tip O the Day 855

The Link: I can’t swear these are the best blogs, they may have left out some (snicker, snicker), but I’ll admit these are  darn good.

I’m not posting often enough for one thing.  I can give several reasons.

I’m not getting enough guest bloggers.  There are some really good ones out there, but they’re busy.

Well, I’ll try to do better.  I try to do a lot of things.

Question O the Day:

How can you tell an explanation from an excuse?

Answer: If I say it, it’s an explanation.  If you say it, –.

Quote O the Day:

You know that little voice that says, “Oh no, you can’t say that.”?

Well, I have one of those.  It’s just that it runs about eight seconds behind.

Second Question O the Day:

Who out there would like to do a guest blog?  How about you?

    I’m not a blogger. Can’t help. :p
I like the post, though. It’s like a strategy, though: admit when you’re failing to provide what you want to provide and delegate. There’s an idea for a post. 😉
    Cheers!

    • ram – you’re not a blogger, but your comments often make a good post, like this one. if you would like to expand on it, and maybe add an example, maybe this if you’d like, the it would be another good post. if you would like to

True, I’m not a blogger. And I still insinuated myself as an option: maybe because I like the idea of being a blogger and keep putting it off, so it’d be a nice chance for me. Maybe because I have ADHD and before we use a strategy to learn how to delegate, we get sidetracked by the next new shiny thing and overreach. It would definitely make a good post. :p

Also: while I have your attention, I’m dying to share something with you (unrelated). On my vacation, I went to ser an exhibit about the brain. The had a 1-on-1 game/competition of focus and relaxation. Two people, sitting in front of each other, had an EEG headband measuring focus and relaxation. The band sent signals to a magnet under the table that controlled the ball on top of the table between us: the more focus and relaxed a person was, the more the ball moved towards the other person. When you pushed the ball all the way over, you won. I was surprised to win very quickly, but the graphs of brain activity show what happened: my sister, a vanilla, had a very constant focus but below average. I had large spikes of focus on my graph, as well as very low values whenever I was bewildered (first because I wasn’t sure the game had started already and then because I noticed the ball was moving away from me very fast!). I could show you the fotos, if you want. 🙂 Or a make a post about it! 😀

what kind of content would you want in a guest blog post? or I guess i should be asking, what kind of topics would be neat or interesting to blog about relevant to ADHD that a guest could blog about?

I’ve been giving it some thought and for many of your readers I think my area of “expertise” would probably be related to technology and the ways I’ve found to make it work for me. of particular interest I think would be to talk about how I’ve been able to utilize a few tech-specific tools (i.e. apps, smart home stuff, etc) to try and “externalize” thoughts and tasks more often instead of relying on my executive functioning. which, you know, doesn’t really function all that well.

        thoughts?

        • This would be great. Please be sure to include your thoughts as in your last paragraph about the reasons this works. Just email and I will post it, Possibly subject to minor Editing.
          Thanks a lot
