Strategy

It does help to do an occasional time analysis and see where our time is going.  Sometimes we realize some activities don’t have enough payoff to justify the time we’re giving them.   Also, if we make a list of our values, what’s important to us, then we can check to see if our time allotments are congruent with our values.

  4. Had to laugh. I do some of that stuff, too. It’s amazing how little I can actually get done during the day. I get to the end and I’m usually irritated with myself for not being more productive. It’s worse these days.

I read your posts and am amazed and impressed at all the stuff you get done in a day . It’s really remarkable.
What are you expecting of yourself?
have you made a list and really looked at all you do?
      Best wishes

I can suggest you to read and follow the new website about self-improvement, self-help and mind wellness: mind-globe.com. This article deals with a new habit to get in order to take advantages from the day starting from the early hours. It talks about the “Holy Hour”, a hour you can dedicate to yourself when you wake up. Feel free to check it out 🙂

thanks for the tip. i checked it out. thats pretty much what I’m actually doing, but i cant mediate for 20 minutes, at least not in the usual fashion, so i take the dog for a walk and go look at the fish and count that. and i exercise for about an hour most days. i do think those things help.

Thanks for the chuckle, Doug! I’m still working through the time management chapters in Ramsay&Rostain’s AADHD Toolkit (a nice companion read to Doug’s book, for anyone lookin for more reading material!), and am in the midst of trying to learn to analyze how I “spend myself” and how to “choreograph my day”. Lots of time recording, time estimating, time tracking, time judgments, memory for time, time analysis…it all makes me a bit panicky. Appreciate the reminder these this can be done more comfortably with a little laughter!
