“Just try harder” — ADD Tip of the day 192

If we have ADD or ADHD we have probably heard that all our life.  We probably say that to ourself too.  That is a strategy – just try harder.  It doesn’t work!  As  strategy, it stinks.  It is just a formula for more frustration, shame and demoralization.  We don’t need to try harder, we need to try smarter.  We need tools, strategies that do work.  That’s where the book comes in.

The book is on Amazon.com now and you don’t need to put it in quotes to find it anymore.  Just put in   –    your life can be better  –  and it should come up.  I am giving/sending copies to all those who helped and to all my patients with ADD/ADHD, yours should get there soon.

About doug with ADHD

I am a psychiatric physician. I learned I have ADHD at age 64, and then wrote two ADHD books for adults, focusing on strategies for making your life better. I just published my first novel, Alma Means Soul. Your Life Can Be Better; strategies for adults with ADD/ADHD available at amazon.com, or smashwords.com (for e books) Living Daily With Adult ADD or ADHD: 365 Tips O the Day ( e-book). This is one tip at a time, one page at a time, at your own pace. It's meant to last a year. As a child, I was a bully. Then there was a transformation. Now I am committed to helping people instead abusing them. The Bully was published in January, 2016. It's in print or e book, on Amazon.
