Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! — ADD Tip o the day 160

I feel like there is a big fly wheel turning inside, and it never stops.  The sound it makes is Hurry! Hurry! Hurry.

My wife and I were on vacation, and I was waiting for her to get ready so we could go to a resturant, and I heard it -Hurry!

Why?  What’s the rush?  We’re on vacation, we don’t have a reservation to make or a schedule to keep or anywhere we have to go or anything we have to do.  Why hurry?

This is just part of ADD and ADHD and it makes no sense and it’s unpleasant.  I don’t like the feeling.  Actually I have been able to slow down at times, at the beach or on a retreat-sat a long time looking at the trees and the birds and the squirrels- it was nice.

Strategies: be aware of it.  ask Why?  Slow down.   Life can be better.
