Does ADD Get Better? —- Tip o The day 151

People sometimes ask if ADD or ADHD gets better.

Well, there are some programs that are supposed to help, like balancing and coordination exercises, and someone just told me that the memory program at cogmed.com has helped them.  And the stimulant medications can certainly help us focus and with motivation.

But I don’t think ADD or ADHD  get better, not after adolescence.  I think we learn how to cope better, and our life gets better for sure.  Our ADD/ADHD symptoms can get temporarily worse if we are tired or stressed, so we need strategies to deal with that too.

It would be nice if I’m wrong (again!).
