Making decisions depletes our will power, and our capacity to make more decisions.
the car salesman knows this. he gives you lots of options, and makes many offers, and finally goes to talk with his boss – what do you think they talk about? the weather? the ball game? what a sucker you are? – and then at long last comes back with his “best offer”. by that time you are exhausted, frustrated and depleted. you’ll agree to anything, you just want to get out of there, and having invested 3 hours in this torture, you sure don’t want to come back tomorrow and start over.
