Am I stupid to keep putting these posts up on the blog?
Was I stupid to buy some stocks early this morning when the market dropped instead of this afternoon when it was even lower? Or for knocking over my water glass the other day?
No, I was clumsy, perhaps unwise, stubborn, but not stupid. That is a word that is damaging and is best dropped from our vocabulary. It generally comes from old tapes from our childhood. It is damaging. Beating ourselves up, or down, does not help us function any better.

I think the word in Spanish is tontoso, and it is a much worse insult in Spanish than it is in English. Maybe manners are better in Spanish.
