I was feeling a lot of pressure to get the book finished by the end of April. Two separate very wise women pointed out that this pressure was self imposed. There really is no pressure. There is no real deadline. If i get it to the publisher in June it will come out in the fall. And the commitment to get it published in 2011 is also self imposed. 2012 would be OK.
It is nice to feel the relief from the pressure. But I wonder if the self imposed deadline was a way to get myself to stick with it, not get distracted and go off in some other direction? Like a strategy. Coping with ADD is a complicated business.
