Serenity —— Tip o the day 40

We need to capitalize on our strengths.   What about our weaknesses?

It is good to acknowledge them, so we can come up with strategies to cope with them.

We can accept that we are not going to improve them very much, even though we try.

There is a paradox.  I need to learn to accept that things are the way they are.                    Not everything is going to be the way I want it to be.  Not everyone is going to do what I want them to or what I think they should.  It is as it is.

At the same time, I need to identify problems and come up with ways to deal with them, strategies.  Then my life can be better.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

    Aaaaah, the serenity prayer- One of the most helpful requests for
    our every challenge!!
    I also liked the concept of focusing on our strengths- just taking time to
    focus on a positive gift which we have been given- encourages us of our
    usefulness . But with ADD, sometimes the focus on a strength can lead
    to compulsiveness in that area, I think.

      thank you so much for your comment
      yes, the serentity prayer from AA, shouldve given AA credit.
      some compulsiveness i think is a good thing with ADD,
      too much is crippling.
      focusing on our weaknesses can be compulsive too and probably more damaging.
