Of course, I intended to write this piece sooner.
Procrastinating means to me that I need to do it, and will get to it, just not today.
And so on.
Usually it means I think it’s going to be difficult, or unpleasant, or that I may not be able to do it well.
Same strategies: be aware and acknowledge that I am procrastinating, think of the advantages of doing it and the effects of not, figure out why I’m procrastinating and if there’s anything I can do about it, small steps, hard part first.
Sometimes scheduling when to do the steps helps.
Have you been procrastinating on leaving a comment? Try the strategy above.
Comments appreciated.
Lots more about this in the book. Coming out when?
2011 Your Life Can Be Better
thank you for your most excellent comment.
i prefer the positive self talk, because tho the negative may work to get you started, which is good, i fear that it undermines you in the long run.
good point that you dont have to start on the hard part first, tho i think thats best if you can do it.
but starting on any part is starting and that is the key to breaking the log jam
thanks

A follow up scenario to procrastinating:
#1- Yes, be aware that I am procrastinating.
#2- Give myself a “good talking to” (Neg. or Pos.) depending on your method of
self motivation. Timing is the key, because you then must
#3- Immediately begin on the challenge- attacking any part of it- and there you
are, you have taken the first (& seemingly impossible) step.
